![]() Wednesday, March 26, 2003 Another update on Al Kresta--more great news! Rehab here we come! at 14:58 Finally. Thank you for your patience. I am sorry for taking so long between updates. As promised last Friday on the air, indeed Al has been officially discharged from the medical care side of the hospital and admitted to the physical therapy side of the the hospital. This transfer means that Al is considered "physically sound." That means that he is no longer fighting infection and he can proceed to a rigorous physical therapy routine. This does not mean Al is no longer in pain. In fact, his wound is not completely closed and there are still sharp episodes. Some of the delay was due to 1. Al wanting me to relay the new routine, and 2. not being sure if Al was going to be moved or not. It wasn't until later in the day Monday that a bed was available for Al and they were not about to discharge him with no place to go. The new routine was not settled until yesterday. It will involve at least 3 hours of what Al calls boot camp. This will be broken up into 1.5 hour intervals and it is exhausting. There are days when they will add other activity as well. We have arrived and a very good place. Al has crossed a rough and scary vista. The grace of God through the intercession of your prayers have brought him through. Thank you. Now we ask for continued support. Al and Sally have a mighty hill to climb. They will need strength, perseverance and an increase of faith. Please continue to pray for Al, for his return to his family and his ministry. Al is also very anxious to get back to a microphone and thank you himself. Our plans are to to have him give us a message or two in the very near future. So please watch for these (now less frequent) updates and listen to your radio or on the Internet, because Al will be back, sooner rather than later. Praise God for all He has done. It is a new day, and we are His. You can still continue to leave notes for Al in the Karing for Kresta guestbook. posted by Heidi | 26.3.03 |
